I play a lot of men in suits, so anytime I get to wear something different or do something un-suit-like, I get extra excited. And I booked something very un-suit-like on The Deuce.

In addition to the super sweet 70's wardrobe I am sure will be super fly, I am also engaged in some...NSFW behavior. I may or may not use the F-word as a verb for the first time in my professional career. My mom has gotten to feel pride watching me play a lawyer and a doctor. This one's just for me. And you, and everyone else watching, I guess. More to come.

I've been hungry to get back on stage for a long time and this play and team has been the most amazing opportunity. Dealing with a number of powerful themes: identity and appropriation, who gets to tell whose story and the soft and hard lines we put between those things. And betrayal, of course. Can't wait to share this with an audience.

The most fun I've ever had at an audition.  First, I was excited when production reached out to ask me if I'd help them with a "table read". I'd auditioned for the show a few times, and I guessed they liked me enough to trust me to read a few roles for the team while everyone got to hear the episode out loud for the first time. Sort of like a play reading, but TV! 

Then I guess they liked me enough to offer me one of the roles I read. I won't give details here, other than to say I read 4 roles, and only one of them wasn't a Jew. Guess which one I booked? #alwaysabridesmaid

It seems like a great show, I'm excited to see how it goes.

That second "untitled Netflix show" is now titled- I'll be appearing in the pilot episode of "The Defenders", bringing together all of the Marvel-Netflix superheroes for one intense, 8-ep miniseries!
I'll be facing off against Matt Murdock (Daredevil's lawyer secret identity) in court, as an unscrupulous CEO. The series drops on Netflix on Friday August 17th!

Friday June 9th- set your Netflix machines and prepare to binge watch the ride of your lives. Or +3, +7, whatever your viewing habits are. I'll pop up a few times for some lighter moments.

It's official- I'll be playing Bill Bayley, father to one Baxter Bayley, a certain CO who's in a bit of a mess as of last season's finale.

The cast and crew were such a delight to work with. Alan Eisenberg, who plays Bax, and I also joked that his real dad has 15 years on me, and he has 15 years on my real kid. Nothing a little makeup and hair-greying won't fix. It was a real thrill and honor to be a part of this iconic show. Drop date to follow...

Actor's deal with the uncertainty of the business and the lopsided amount of "no"s we hear in different ways. Mine is usually to focus on the task at hand, to enjoy the work and just do the scene/audition in front of me with no thoughts or expectations beyond doing it well. 
That can sometimes lead to funny exchanges like:
Manager: "Guess who booked 'Oceans'?...
Me: Um, I did? What is that?

I'd auditioned for it some weeks before, not registered what the title meant, and didn't give it a second thought until this call.

I get to be a man in the upcoming and amazing female-reboot/continuation of the "Ocean's" films. I'm incredibly excited to be in such a high-profile piece with such mind-blowingly talented humans. I'll post more details when it's time.
